Hello! If you’ve been following me for the last year, you’ll know that 2018 was quite the year for me. I got a bone marrow transplant, met my current partner, got baptized back into the Christian church, read 46 books, and made some other huge life adjustments. Now, I’m learning to live with a brand new immune system and a very different life from the one I’d imagined this time last year. Looking forward to 2019, I’d like to introduce you to a couple of projects I’ve started and the status of some others.

Body of My Own is an online publication on Medium.com will publish one story a week over the course of about two months starting sometime this spring. My goal is to publish at least eight stories focused on different people’s health care journey’s.

My goal for 2019 is to fully review every book I read. While my number of books read is going to be quite a bit smaller because of my school schedule and actually writing quality reviews, I hope that this consistency will help me in my pursuit of blogging and creative writing. My goal is to read about 2-3 books a month. Along with a full college course load (in mostly Literature), that’s a lot of reading.

My @kpoements Instagram is continuing! I’m committed to documenting my journey up until my 1-year mark, which is when I’ll reassess what to do with the account.

I’m also continuing to collect my essays into an essay collection that I’d like to self publish sometime in 2019.

As for personal goals, I’m focusing on my health and limiting my time & activities to ensure that I can do that. Along with going back to school, I’m also focused on learning how to keep a better budget and maybe even run a 5k.

Honestly, I’m excited for 2019, if you can’t tell. I have lots of hope for the next 12 months.

Happy New Year!
